Senior PHP Developer vacancy North West of England, Cumbria and Lancashire

BFI is a long-established full digital agency of over 25 years, specialising in website design & development, digital innovation and transformation, ecommerce, bespoke applications, robust hosting solutions & digital marketing services.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior PHP Developer to join our team.

This role is primarily based out of our offices located in Milnthorpe on the outskirts of Kendal, within easy reach of Lancaster, Barrow, Morecambe, Penrith, Preston and the surrounding towns and villages. Situated on the edge of the beautiful English Lake District, the area offers the perfect playground for the outdoor enthusiast or those seeking a more relaxed pace of life.
Due to recent events and approaches to the way we work there are possible opportunities for flexible remote/hybrid working arrangements.

You will be very experienced, proactive, and diligent with an ability to build and develop robust web systems and applications from the ground up, using modern standards compliant coding practices.

You will be working with well-known brands and blue-chip customers, presenting unique opportunities to showcase your capabilities. You will need to enjoy learning new skills and keeping up with the latest web technologies. You should be experienced enough to offer solutions not problems and constructively contribute to delivering effective, solid pieces of work to be proud of.

In short, you should be able to demonstrate:

• An excellent commercial experience of PHP, MySQL & PHP frameworks with the ability to build applications from the ground up
• An understanding of MVC and OOP methodology
• The ability to efficiently plan projects and effectively communicate those plans
• A working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery & React
• Being a self-motivated, team player, thorough and committed to our customers and the business

• Past experience of leading an existing development team across multiple projects and demonstrating best practice methodologies
• Experience of developing plugins for WordPress / WooCommerce
• In depth knowledge and real-world experience of React Native / NodeJS
• Proven examples of Android and Apple Application development
• Experience of a Linux/Apache hosting environment and command line experience
