Experienced PHP Developer

Due to continued growth we require an experienced PHP developer to join our bespoke programming team.

The Company

Big Fish Internet is a leading multi-disciplined digital agency based in a picturesque location south of Kendal in The Lake District whilst been just North of Lancaster. The Company has a long established reputation for delivering creative web design, bespoke development and existing system integration to over 750 clients throughout the UK. Our focus is on delivering quality products to meet the client's needs, along with exceptional levels of customer service and support.

The Successful Candidate

We are looking for the right person to join our established development team building bespoke web applications and maintaining existing systems.

You will be creative, pro-active with an ability to problem solve and interested in taking up challenging and varied projects with an ambition to exceed our customer's expectations.

In short you should be able to demonstrate:

• Excellent commercial experience of PHP5, MySQL5 & PHP frameworks (Zend & CodeIgniter)
• Any experience with Perl or Linux system administration is advantageous.
• An understanding of MVC and OOP methodology
• The ability to efficiently plan projects and effectively communicate those plans
• A working knowledge of HTML, CSS & Javascript
• Most importantly be self-motivated, team player, thorough and committed to our customers and the business

The Reward

In return we offer an attractive basic salary dependant on skills and experience alongside our usual benefits package. The Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience of PHP5, MySQL5 & ideally PHP frameworks (Zend, CodeIgniter). Previous commercial experience is advantageous. Developing bespoke applications you will also need to be able to support, maintain and further develop current customer systems. You will need to be a team player in a busy, growing and friendly company.
